Our people are at the heart of our Culture of Care. Creating an environment where every colleague feels understood, supported, and able to do their best work is not just the right thing to do, it is essential to who we are as a university.

Yet the reality across workplaces is sobering:

  • 33% of neurodivergent employees say their work environment negatively impacts their mental health

  • 45% report feeling exhausted at work, compared to 30% of neurotypical colleagues

  • 65% fear discrimination from management, despite inclusion commitments

  • Only 46% of managers feel confident supporting neurodivergent colleagues

These figures are not about capability. They are about environment. And as managers, we have the power to shape that environment every day.

We are therefore delighted to offer this highly practical and engaging session, delivered by external specialist Andy Williamson from Welcome Brain, designed specifically to support managers to create neuroinclusive teams where colleagues can thrive.

This interactive session will help you to:

  • Understand neurodiversity and the strengths it brings to teams

  • Improve neuroinclusive communication and everyday management practice

  • Identify simple, practical adjustments that make a meaningful difference

  • Remove unintentional barriers that impact performance and wellbeing

  • Build confidence in supporting neurodivergent colleagues with clarity and compassion

You will leave with clear, usable strategies that can be applied immediately to strengthen your leadership and support your team.

Supporting neurodivergent colleagues is not about doing more. It is about doing things differently, thoughtfully, and intentionally. When we get this right, we unlock talent, improve wellbeing, and create the psychologically safe, inclusive culture that defines Strathclyde.

This session forms part of our ongoing commitment to building a workplace where every colleague feels valued, supported, and able to thrive.

Spaces are limited. We strongly encourage all managers to attend.
