Target Audience: Aimed at those who want to host public engagement events at the Festival of Social Science in particular

Public Engagement is about running activities for non-academic audiences to help them understand the purpose and benefits of your research. Prior to designing your event, it is important to give some thought who would be most interested and/or get the most out of your activity so you can design the activity around them. Designed to help you decide who your event should be aimed at (if you haven’t considered that already) and how to craft an engaging, memorable event, the training will ensure that you and your audience get the most out of it.

Delivered By: Anna Salaman

Prerequisites

Participants should be aiming to host an event as part of the Festival of Social Sciences in 2026 (17th October to 7th November - the call for activities will open in April). Please note, events must have some link to the social sciences but do not need to be exclusively based on social sciences.
