Target Audience: Teaching and Administrative Staff

M365 Copilot (Premium) is the more advanced version of Microsoft Copilot (Basic), integrating the Office 365 suite with Copilot, and enabling AI-powered searches and tasks to be carried out in your OneDrive and Outlook accounts.

But why might you want to use Copilot in this way, and what sort of tasks can it carry out or support?

This beginner-friendly online session provides a short summary of M365 Copilot Premium, including key differences from the Basic version, examples of role-based tasks, and information about the data security of this tool.

The session will also provide practical demonstrations of Copilot Premium, showing how it can support varied job roles across the University.

By the end of this session, participants should be able to:

  • Explain the difference between Copilot Basic and Copilot Premium
  • Identify where Copilot Premium can support their day-to-day work
  • Describe how Copilot Premium can be used for different teaching and administrative roles
  • Use Copilot Premium to draft, summarise, and build from existing work.
  • Recognise its limitations and the need to review outputs, and apply basic principles of responsible use, including handling of sensitive information
