Training session for researchers and research support staff

Looking to discover new funding opportunities, connect with potential collaborators and make the most of Pivot-RP?

Join us for an interactive training session designed to introduce you to Pivot-RP, our research funding discovery and collaboration platform. Pivot-RP is the sister product of Research Professional and that we now subscribe to this as it can push funding opps straight to Worktribe and start your application. Research Professional will no longer be available from the end of November. So, you need to set up your profile on Pivot RP and recreate your funding searches and alert to continue receiving them., this session will provide practical guidance on navigating the platform and making the most of its features.

What will you learn?

During this session, we will explore the key functionalities of Pivot-RP, including:

  1. Accessing Pivot-RP
  • How to access your Pivot-RP account.
  • Claiming and amending your researcher profile.
  • Discovering other researchers and enhancing your visibility to potential collaborators.
  1. Discovering funding opportunities

Learn how to find relevant funding opportunities using Pivot-RP’s comprehensive funding database, including:

  • Using the funding discovery wheel.
  • Navigating the simple search, including free text, discipline and funder searches.
  • Understanding funding opportunity overviews.
  • Exploring advanced search options to refine your funding searches.
  1. Making the most of Pivot-RP’s content and collaboration tools

Discover how to organise, manage and share funding information, as well as connect with other researchers:

  • Tracking and saving funding opportunities.
  • Tagging funding opportunities for easy organisation.
  • Sharing and downloading funding information.
  • Using the calendar view to help manage funding deadlines.
  • Finding potential collaborators.
  • Creating groups to support research collaboration and networking.
  1. Additional features and functionality

We will also explore some of Pivot-RP’s additional tools, including:

  • The awards database.
  • Finding conferences and similar events organised by topic.
