Target Audience: Academic, teaching, professional services and support staff involved in learning, teaching and/or supporting student learning

This live, in-person, interactive workshop introduces the BOLD approach to curriculum design and enhancement, providing a practical, evidence-informed framework for creating coherent, inclusive and engaging curricula. Through a series of collaborative activities, participants will explore how to apply BOLD principles to the design of new curricula or the enhancement of existing provision.

BOLD provides Strathclyde colleagues with a simple, evidence-informed approach to curriculum design and enhancement. This two-hour interactive workshop brings the BOLD approach to life through a series of practical activities that guide participants through key stages of the curriculum design process.

Participants will explore how to design curricula with graduate outcomes and relevant professional or accreditation requirements in mind; develop effective learning outcomes; align assessment with those outcomes; and design teaching and learning activities that support inclusion, engagement and an excellent student experience.

Rather than simply introducing the principles of BOLD, the workshop provides opportunities to apply them in practice, enabling participants to use the approach to think critically about their own programmes, modules and teaching. The session is facilitated by colleagues from OSDU’s Academic Development team and Education Enhancement.
