Target Audience: PGRs
The session begins by exploring what resilience means in a research context and identifying common pressures, personal stress responses and protective factors. Participants will reflect on their values, strengths, boundaries and sources of support. The workshop introduces practical tools for regulating emotions, reframing difficult experiences, managing uncertainty, maintaining perspective and recovering after setbacks. Participants will also consider how to sustain motivation and creativity, recognise early signs of strain and identify when to adapt their approach or seek support.
By the end of the workshop participants will:
- Understand resilience in the context of postgraduate research
- Identify personal stress triggers, strengths and protective factors
- Respond more constructively to setbacks, uncertainty and change
