Is this course right for me?
Target Audience: PGRs
Participants review their progress, identify current and forthcoming challenges and consider how their research activity connects to the eventual thesis, examination requirements and wider development as an independent researcher. We explore how to maintain momentum and motivation, use feedback effectively, work constructively with supervisors and support networks, and respond when progress does not go to plan.
Participants identify and mitigate common risks to timely completion and develop a realistic and motivating individual plan for navigating their thesis.
By the end of the workshop participants will:
- Understand the key stages and expectations of the doctoral journey
- Identify priorities and milestones relevant to their current stage
- Review progress and recognise where further support is needed
- Use feedback, supervision and peer support more effectively
- Apply strategies to maintain momentum and respond to setbacks
