Target Audience: First Year Postgraduate Research Students
The PGR Induction is delivered in 3 sessions. All PGRs should attend sessions 1 and 2. Session 3 in not relevant to PGRs in Strathclyde Business School.
1) PGR Induction and Support Services Marketplace - Wednesday 11 October 2023 - Lunch from 12.30
Join us for lunch and meet our Support Services in the new Doctoral School space on L6 of the Teaching and Learning Building at 12.30.
The formal session will be opened at 13.30 in LT325 by Debra Willson, Deputy Associate Principal
The session provides a welcome to Strathclyde, to Strathclyde Doctoral School and to key information to support you in your journey as a postgraduate researcher.
2) Virtual Support Services Information Session - Thursday 19 October 2023 - 09.30
Join us on zoom at 9.30am to hear about what our Support Services offer and how you can engage with them during your PGR journey.
3) Virtual PG Cert Researcher Professional Development Induction - Wednesday 25 October 2023 - 13.00
This session will cover the purpose of the PG Cert RPD, planning professional development, and how to successfully complete the PG Cert RPD. The hour-long session will consist of a presentation and an open Q&A.
Students in the Business School should contact their supervisor or departmental administrator to find out about their professional development requirements. An optional on-campus Q&A will follow.

All postgraduate research students are eligible to access the Researcher Development Programme workshops. This workshop can contribute towards the PG Certificate in Researcher Professional Development (PG Cert RPD).
You can find credit and class information in the Researcher Development Programme Handbook and in NEPTUNE (Engineering, HaSS) or SPIDER (Science).
Please check with your department or Supervisor to confirm if you are enrolled on the PG Cert RPD and how many credits you are expected to achieve if you are unsure.
