Target Audience: Managers at any level

This highly participative and practical workshop is designed to give you fresh insights, new knowledge and practical techniques for strengthening and optimising your own and other’s performance, productivity and happiness at work.

The workshop, drawing from Seligman & Peterson’s 24 Character Strengths framework, will explore what each person’s top Signature Strengths are and how you can best activate these for your own and your people’s increased success and engagement.  Using these insights, you will then build an enriched strategy for optimising your leadership style and preferences in order to achieve the things that most matter to you, identifying key development actions that can get you closer towards achieving your ideal leadership outcomes, and away from any problems, threats and difficulties you might be facing.

‘The old formula is broken and waiting to happy actually limits our brain’s potential for success – whereas cultivating positive brains makes us more resilient, creative and productive  - and this in turns drives performance upwards.’

Shawn Achor, Harvard happiness at work expert and author of ‘The Happiness Advantage’ (2010) and ‘Before Happiness’ (2013)

By the end of this workshop you will have covered:

  • Understanding your own Signature Strengths and how you can use these to greatest advantage for yourself and the people you lead and work with
  • Practical tools and techniques for building a strengths based approach into your individual and team leadership, student learning, and wider collaborative relationships
  • Findings and applications from the latest research about how positivity and strengths based leadership lead to higher performance, greater engagement, increased happiness at work and enhanced relationships
  • Exploration and inquiry into some of the latest thinking about the benefits and application of increasing happiness at work, the elements of resilience and wellbeing, and the essential conditions of flourishing
  • Consideration of these ideas in relation to real-life organisational challenges and aspirations you and the other people in the room are facing.
