Target Audience: Staff

The Widening Access Team are currently recruiting staff volunteers, to provide one to one mentoring support to students from care backgrounds, for the September 2015 intake. With the full backing and encouragement of the University, you have the opportunity to change a young person's life: someone who may lack academic, financial and emotional support or a strong social network, to aid their transition to University and enhance their overall student experience. This is a great opportunity to really make a difference and have a hugely positive impact on others' lives. This information session will tell you more about the mentoring project as well as providing you with an opportunity to ask questions and to sign up for the scheme.

  • Background to the project.
  • The experience of students from looked after backgrounds.
  • What mentoring involves.
  • Training and support.
