Target Audience: Postgraduate Research Students

Participants will be introduced to various types of visual formats including standard graphs, mapping data and infographics. In addition, they will be encouraged to explore patterns and connections in some examples which they will present back to the class as part of a group.

By the end of the workshop participants will have:

  • Developed skills required to present information in a visual format
  • Been introduced to various types of visual formats including standard graphs, mapping data and infographics
  • Improved effectiveness with regard to analysing data and communicating it visually
  • Improved their understanding of selected digital tools and which ones to use for data visualisation.

All postgraduate research students are eligible to access the Researcher Development Programme workshops. This workshop can contribute towards the PG Certificate in Researcher Professional Development (PG Cert RPD).

You can find credit and class information in the Researcher Development Programme Handbook and in NEPTUNE (Engineering, HaSS) or SPIDER (Science).

Please check with your department or Supervisor to confirm if you are enrolled on the PG Cert RPD and how many credits you are expected to achieve if you are unsure.
