Target Audience: Staff nominated as a DSE Risk Assessor

 

The aim of the course is to provide nominated staff with an understanding of the DSE Regulations and assessment process together with the risks associated with incorrect use of computers and example of possible solutions.

 

The outcome of the course is for participants to gain a better understanding of common musculoskeletal disorders, the regulations associated with DSE assessment, an overview of common workstation problems and an insight into possible solutions.  Participants will have an opportunity conduct a practical example of undertaking a DSE assessment.

Participants should have completed the Display Screen Equipment On-Line Module prior to attending.

Charges for no-shows to courses

When registering for a course, you should note that there will be a £50* charge to your department if you cancel within 5** working days or you do not attend. There will be a £25 charge for cancellations between 6 and 10 working days. There will be no charge for cancellations made 10 or more working days before the event. You should cancel your booking via the DAT system or by emailing safety.training@strath.ac.uk.

Your department is welcome to send someone else in your place if they wish without incurring a charge, providing that person has the necessary prerequisites for the course. In the case of courses split over more than one day, you must attend ALL parts of the course. If you fail to attend any part, you will be charged as outlined above.

*This is the standard charge for cancellation or non-attendance at a one day’s duration or less course. For some courses there may be a higher cancellation charge.
