Is this course right for me?
Target Audience: Research Staff (e.g. Research Assistants, Research Associates, Research Fellows)
This is a session of the monthly Researcher Meet-up, a series of informal get-togethers for researchers to connect with peers and learn about initiatives and services at Strathclyde:
Come and join us to get to know your fellow researchers and learn more about what’s going on around the University for research staff.
The event will start with a short presentation by a speaker from one of Strathclyde’s many services, initiatives and units, followed by time for questions, discussions and a bit of informal networking.
You can find more information about the Researcher Meet-Up series as well as other session dates here.
In this session on the 23rd June, 1-2pm, we will be talking about the Research Excellence Framework (REF), one of the largest regular research quality assessments in UK Higher Education.
Our colleagues from the Strathclyde REF Team will introduce you to the process of REF – including its features at Strathclyde, the outcomes of the REF2021 submission (expected to be published in Apr 2022) and why knowing about REF is relevant for you as a researcher. As usual, they’ll also be happy to answer any questions you may have.
Course Outcomes/ Objectives:
- Meet other researchers at Strathclyde
- Learn about University initiatives and services for researchers
- Share your experiences and potential issues with peers
