Target Audience: All university staff and postgraduate researchers involved in applying for, or supporting applications for, research funding in the UK
Course Description;
In this workshop, you'll learn how to craft a Narrative CV that highlights your contributions or the contributions of your research colleagues. The modules are focused on:
- contributions to the generation of new ideas, tools, methodologies or knowledge
- the development of others and maintenance of effective working relationships
- contributions to the wider research and innovation community
- contributions to broader research or innovation-users and audiences, and towards wider societal benefit
The workshop will guide you through developing a narrative CV that captures a diverse range of contributions, career journeys and achievements, as well as accounting for career breaks, secondments, and relevant experiences. The workshop is open to and will be relevant to researchers and research managers.
Course Outcomes/Objectives;
- To develop participants' skills to design their own narrative CV and to peer review others
- To develop facilitators skills to support the process of the implementation of Narrative CVs in the HWU research community.
- To create a network of champions for Narrative CVs within the research community
Accessibility;
We are committed to ensuring our events and courses are accessible to all staff. This event will be in-person only on Strathclyde campus.
For on-campus activity:
- Full access information for the venue is available via AccessAble
- Hybrid provision is not available.
- There will be audience participation
- You are asked to attend the whole session
- This will be a short session without a break. Lunch will be served immediately after the session.
- The session is relaxed – this means you can stretch, move around, stim etc.
- In line with current University health and safety guidance, attendees may wish to use face masks. The room will have either mechanical ventilation or passive ventilation (i.e. open windows)
- Digital copies of resources will be emailed to participants after delivery as standard
- Printed materials will be available in different formats (e.g. large print) / Contact Catalina Bastidas (c.bastidas@hw.ac.uk) to request printed materials in different formats
