Target Audience: staff, students, researchers

This workshop will be delivered by Deafblind Scotland as part of the Right to Dream training programme.   Co-facilitated alongside  person with lived experience of Deafblindness, this workshop will be a unique opportunity to gain an awareness of what it means to be Deafblind, and will offer insight on what  it means to be a Deafblind student at University of Strathclyde.

The session will give participants:

  • An improved knowledge and understanding of dual sensory loss/Deaflindness;
  • Awareness and understanding of the day-to-day challenges and experiences by individuals with dual sensory loss/Deafblindness;
  • Awareness of the basic principles and techniques to enable communication with deafblind people.

Those who attend this session and the introductory seminar will be considered Right to Dream trained and will receive a certificate for inclusion in CPD portfolio, and a Deafblind Scotland pin badge.

The sessions can be done in any order.
